Let’s just stay in this weekend

I’m sure many of you have lots of exciting plans for the weekend, but I’ll be parked on my couch both Saturday and Sunday nights – this is a big TV weekend for me and I’m not ashamed. Two of my favorite show are coming back and oh how much I’ve missed them.

nedchuckjpgMy reunion with the beautiful Pushing Daisies will be bittersweet as ABC is going to air three final episodes starting tomorrow night. I hate ABC and the fact that I knew Pushing Daisies would end up like this – canceled too early and left to whimper away in a random 3 week final airing with little promotional support behind it – makes me even angrier. It was far too good to last. But luckily I’m consoled by this lovely, fairy tale show that has entranced everyone I know (except those “I don’t want TV” people. I just don’t understand those people). Even my mom loves it,  she just stopped watching as she never knew when it was on. Hrm. If you’ve never seen it, I suggest you get busy and watch all the episodes online so that you can keep up with the romance, the music, and the pies – oh those beautiful pies! From what I’ve read these final three episodes won’t completely answer all my questions, but Fuller has mentioned that he would either release a comic book or movie that would wrap up the series. With perhaps Chuck and Ned having their first kiss? I can dream. (P.S. If you haven’t yet, you must see the show’s star Lee Pace in The Fall. I won’t say the same for co-star, and UK’s answer to Zooey Deschanel, Anna Friel in Land of the Lost.)

trueblood

This Sunday I’m booked up with another show that I’ve been waiting what seems like forever for: True Blood. There’s a reason why your co-workers keep harassing you to watch it – it’s that good. There’s vampires, there’s drugs, there’s shapeshifters, and I’m pretty sure this season there’ll  even be a witch. Hooray!! There’s also some really intense Southern accents, a ton of sex scenes, and the “tall glass of Swedish milk” Alexander Skarsgård whose portrail of Eric puts Robert Pattinson’s attempt at being a sexy vampire to shame.

Nicole

ED Correction: So I’m dumb and my friend just told me that apparently Saturday is the very last episode of Pushing Daisies! They’ve already aired the two before and I missed it. LAME!!
