Clinique’s New Powder and Moisturizer Are Ever So Lovely

Submitted by LAPretty on September 23, 2009 – 10:12 pmNo Comment

powderClinique has come out with some new little lovelies that I can’t wait to spread the word about. The first is their new Superbalanced Powder Makeup SPF 15. While one would never accuse Clinique of coming up with catchy names for their products, they certainly won me over with this powder. I love it! I always seem to put too much on when I’m using a pressed powder and end up looking like a silent movie star on a bad day, so I’m quite partial to loose. But oh my what a mess it makes. Powdering my nose always turns into a big production to make sure that I’m not getting too much on the brush, and then of course I always end up getting too much on the brush and then I get powder in my hair, in my lashes, and all over my clothes. Ick.

But oh my, did Clinique just come up with the most brilliant thing with this gizmo!  Yes, yes, it’s good powder – it’s Clinique, c’mon, it goes without saying that the makeup’s gonna be great. (Plus it’s SPF 15 which I love as I try to exclusively use face makeup/lotion with SPF.) But Superbalanced Powder comes in this super innovative dispenser that’s way handy. The powder is kept pressed, and when you’re ready to get your powder on, you simply turn the grinder and make that pressed powder into loose in a snap! Plus you can only grind the amount of powder that you need, so you don’t end up accidentally spilling powder over everything. And did I mention it comes with those cute, handly little Clinique brushes and a mirror? You can bet I always carry this baby in my purse.

evenbetterAnd while I’m on this Clinique love-fest, let’s talk about their other new product: Even Better Skin Tone Correcting Moisturizer SPF 20. Yes again, their product titles aren’t the catchiest, but Clinique stands for serious business! I mean, the ladies at the counter wear white coats and everything! Are they trying to be doctors? What’s up with that? But I digress…

This doesn’t launch officially until next month, but I’m super special so I got to try it, and boy am I glad I did. It’s got everything I love in a face cream:
SPF? Check.
Fragrance Free? Check.
Super moisturizing without being too oily and sticky? Oh check that as well!

It’s part of their Even Better line that works to correct skin damage like hyperpigmentation or uneven skin tone — I still use the Even Better Makeup that I wrote about last April. This line is all about erasing those spots you’ve gotten on your face from that time in Hawaii when you just wanted a sexy tan but ended up looking like a ripe tomato. I’ve so been there. Ellagic Acis and Vitamin C are there for your dark spots, plus their Even Better products include Pyrus Malus (Apple) Extract to calm and soothe irritated skin. Add to that the powerful anti-oxident in Tumeric Root Extract to defend against environmental assaults, and you got yourself a prime moisturizer for LA livin’.
