Great beauty buys at Kohl’s. I’m not kidding.

lauren-at-kohlsNo, this isn’t a joke. That is Lauren Conrad with a rolling cart click-clacking her heels through the aisles of Kohl’s. In case you haven’t heard, L.C. is doing an affordable line for the retail giant debuting in October. No preview of the line has yet to be released, but you can see a video of Lauren giving fashion tips. For examle, she “likes clothes that can go from day to night” and that she likes to wear dresses because you can “just throw something on and layer it with a blazer.” Yeah, so maybe you should pass on the video because she’s a far more entertaining speaker when she’s crying with Heidi. (Btw, why is she always crying?? Did someone forget to tell her that everything is fake?)

But besides Lauren’s line, Kohl’s has some great beauty buys that shouldn’t be ignored. I’ve already raved about Grassroot’s Orange Brightening Cream which I wear just about every day becauselash it’s the smoothest, most absorbant cream I’ve ever tried that has SPF in it. In addition, Kohl’s also have a super fun makeup line called FLIRT!. They recently debuted a new mascara that I’m obsessed with cutely named Lash-a-delic Fast Defining Mascara. The brush is really effective at legthening and defining each of my lashes so there’s no clumping. But the best part: it seriously lasts all day with no smudging. Believe me, when I’m PMS-ing and there’s an episode of The Biggest Loser on, my mascara is really put to the test with tears. But Lasha-a-delic stays put while coming off easily when I wash my face. I definitly think Lauren should keep some in her purse in case she has another tearful run-in with Heidi. Or Audrina. Or Brody. Or really anyone. I think even the waiter messing up her order makes her cry.

And at $14, it’s a great bargain for an all-around great mascara that will never give you racoon eyes.

diamond1I also adore how Kohl’s offers skin care products that are of high-end quality, but are reasonably affordable, like the new American Beauty Ultimate Diamond Restorative Anti-Aging Cream. While many ladies spend hundreds of dollars on department store skin care products, the American Beauty line is a great go-between between mass market and prestige brands. This cream is formulated with micro-particles of diamond powder  which brighten and illuminate your skin for immediate brilliance. It’s oil-free formula hydrates skin with hyaluronic acid and brightens due to a delicious sounding cocktail of apple, cucumber, and scutellaria root extracts. Try it once and you’ll feel your skin become more supple and soft. After a few week of use, the cream with reduce visible age signs like wrinkles, dark spots and discolorations which it stregthens your skin’s natural defense system to keep it youthful. Plus, who doesn’t want to rub some diamonds on their face every morning and night?

Sadly my nearest Kohl’s in in Alhambra! Luckily I can always get what I want on Kohl’s.com.
