Malayasia’s tradition for beauty
Forget France, I’m all about looking at traditional health and beauty solutions from Malayasia. As the country’s geographic location is at the crossroads of Asia, Malay’s holistic practices were also influenced by Chinese herbalists and Indian ayurvedics, the best of which were combined to support a concept that outer beauty is a manifestation if inner health and balance called Ramua.
Health and Beauty from the Rainforest: Malaysian Traditions of Ramuan, is a newly released guide to this natural health and beauty practice. Written by Professor Gerard Bodeker, a senior faculty member at Oxford and a professor at Columbia, the book reveals insights into unique Malaysian herbal traditions that have been practiced for thousands of years. Everything from hormonal balance to sexual fitness is explored along with healthy aging and beauty.
You can try for yourself some Malay-influence health and beauty with products from Ramuan Spa, especially their Relaxing Face Mask. The key ingredient to the mask is something called Tongkat Ali, a tree native to Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. But, more interestingly, it was also named the “Asian Viagra” because the root of the tree has been used for years to increase sexual vitality.
This same energizing power is used by the mask to revitalize dull, tired-looking skin, along with conditioning and nourishing it. This mask is perfect to use before a night out at your skin is left all soft and dewy as if you just got a very expensive facial. And how can you not love that?
