Target Beauty Giveaway!

Submitted by LAPretty on June 16, 2009 – 3:04 pm3 Comments

target-bullseyeIt’s endless the amount of stuff you can score at Target. Yes, you have to wait in long lines with screaming babies. Yes, you have to dig on the floor for that dress on clearance in your size, and yes, sometimes it’s impossible to find an available cart if you’re at the one on La Cienega. But when you get home and unload your reusable (I hope!) bag of Target crap, irritation turns to pride at all the awesome stuff you bought. Especially in the beauty aisle.

I always check out the Sonia Kashuk aisle. She offers insanely high-quality makeup at an affordable price. If you’re ever on the hunt for makeup brushes, this is the best place to look. (Gift idea: this limited edition brush set is the cutest.) Another fave of mine is Soap & Glory, the company founded by the original brains behind Bliss, Marcia Kilgore. I can’t live (nor wear sandals) without Heel Genius Foot Mask. Plus my life has become ever so much better by always keeping a small bottle of Great Shakes Hand Cream in my purse at all time.

pixieBut let’s talk about some newcomers to the Target makeup aisle: Pixi by Petra and Napoleon Perdis. (They’ve been there since last year actually, but they still are the NKOTB to this long-time Target devotee.) I was instantly drawn to Swedish makeup artist Petra Strand’s line Pixi because they were sooooo cute. I know, I know, I really should be talking about the quality of makeup, but something about Pixi awakened the teenage girl who loves having pretty, pretty makeup palettes and I couldn’t help myself! Everything from the cute sage green color of the the boxes to the brown etching design on the mirrors made me so happy! Plus I love the setup of her Natural Mineral Kit Collection, everything’s right there and I love how the colors are super blend-able. Yes, I should use brushes, but I pretty much finger paint my face with this and have a lot of fun doing it!

perdisdenimAustralian makeup artist Napolean Perdis also have been taking over Target with his brand, and has some cute palettes that just came out last month called Sweater Set, Career Set and Denim Set ($29/each). Each set is conveniently purse-sized and contain a blush, five eye shadows and three lip glosses along with two brushes. And the best part? The packaging has illustrations and numbered application directions to take the guesswork out of applying what to where. Plus he’s also released about couple of new primers including a Pore Perfecting Pre-Foundation ($26) and Bronzer Pre-Foundation Primer ($29). Use the former to minimize the appearance of large pores, and the latter for get a sunshine glow.
