These are a few of my favorite things!

dsc03361After getting sent tons and tons of samples for review purposes, I thought it be fun to give readers a little insight into what products I am actually using on a fairly regular basis during the day.

First off, it is still all about Arcona products, they are all natural, no fuss, and actually work! I know, too good to be true you’re thinking. But no, based in SoCal with a Santa Monica spa (which is gorge), the brand’s products continue to keep my skin flawless during the summer. I love their Golden Grain Gommage, which is a light morning exfoliator that leaves my skin glowing. I use all of the products that are in their Basic Five Kit for normal skin.  Unlike other companies, Arcona’s products are made to work together in order to fight bacteria, sun damage, and signs of aging. I’ve found that their products are so light, that I only need a small amount to cover my face, meaning they last a long long time! From face wash to  moisturizer they keep my routine clean and consistent. Also, for those evenings post-happy hour, when I’m not so into washing my face I reach for their Triad Pads. They have cleanser and toner together, so I can rub one on my face, rinse off, and hit the hay.

When it comes to makeup and makeup application I’m using badger brushes which I picked up from The Makeup Show last fall. As per actual on my face powder it’s all about Bare Escentuals, Smashbox, and Cover FX. All top notch brands that don’t use scary chemicals and their products contain ingredients that are actually good for the skin. I only use powder makeup (yes, seriously) and find that these companies know how to make shades that work for various skin tones and skin types. I’m normal, but sometimes find myself in a combination kind of predicament.

On the opposing end of this, I’ve found that an awesome alternative to foundation, primers, and creams are tinted moisturizers. They go on like creams, provide coverage, contain SPF, and help to even out skin tone and hide imperfections. I know, it is kind of weird to think that since I have naturally tan skin that I’m using a tinted moisturizer. But, tinted moisturizers are so practical and I’m so lazy that we have merged to become a happily married couple. My fave is Arcona, followed by Josie Maran.

That’s basically all I’ve been wearing during the day, I’m thinking I’ll do a Part Deux to include more of the snazzy eyeliners, shadows, and what not. I hope this has shed some light on my favorite things (I know, not as exciting as Oprah’s).  I’ve learned that I have no brand loyalty choose to remain a makeup whore. Feel free to fill me in on a few of you’re fave products as well!
