Pants are so 2008 (short shorts contest!)

Submitted by LAPretty on May 5, 2009 – 3:53 pm3 Comments

Summer doesn’t just equal sunshine and sand it also represents a season of no pants. Besides, pants are so 2008. This year it’s all about showing skin. Don’t shy away from revealing your legs just yet, because there’s an option for everyone. SPL97013_002

This trend obviously originated from those skinny “I don’t eat that” kind of  girls.  But, taking a closer look at the art of the mini dress we find that pants really aren’t necessary. A classy example is Chanel Iman in Matthew Williamson at an event in his honor earlier this year. Upon being asked a question about her outfit she responded, “No, it’s Topshop! Ahhh… I would have worn H&M if I knew I was coming here earlier! But I just sort of got out of the car. I had on pants earlier, but I just took them off.” That’s right! Who needs pants?

If you have any apprehension about wearing your teeny dress ibritney-pantyless-red-dressn public then by all means slide on some boy short underwear underneath. This way should a peep show opportunity pop up you won’t be the star. We highly recommend you taking precautions as to avoid pulling a Britney. [Editor's Note: I did a Google image search for "Britney Pantyless" and got quite a few results. Poor girl, glad she stopped being crazy so she can remember to put on her panties!]

Along with mini-dresses, it is strongly encouraged that you put on a pair of heidi_montag_3short shorts and let yourself be liberated by the feeling of being half naked. Most women have an anti-shorts stance, as it can be quite trying to find a perfect few pairs. We encourage you to move on from those feelings and revisit the idea of shorts or further more short shorts. After all insecurities are all in the head, again Britney is a prime example of this. Shorts look good and they’re super comfy. Heidi Montag is a huge fan of the short short. However, we think Spencer Pratt may be an even bigger fan.

If Heidi’s shorts aren’t exactly your style, don’t sweat because we think the Solaris Short from lucy activewear will keep you looking and feeling cool this summer. They have a drawstring and are made of stretchy cotton in order to give the perfect fit.
