Knowing where to get an amazing facial is kind of like finding that perfect pair of pants. You want someone to be honest with you about what’ll work, without having them try to up sell you unnecessary products. After briefly arconabeing introduced to the Arcona experience I signed up to have a facial at their Santa Monica studio. Their spa is nestled right off Broadway, near Fred Segal. Inside everything feels so bright and pristine. Prior to actually receiving a facial I filled out a few pages of paperwork regarding my skin’s history. I really liked this because even though all of their ingredients are arconainsidenatural, there are some products that could irritate certain skin types, and it makes the customer feel more secure that the esthetician is drawing from skin history, not just present appearance.

From the waiting area to the treatment rooms, the experience was intimate and relaxing. My facialist Debbie was such a doll; she explained to me what was going to happen before, during, and after the entire facial, so I knew not to be alarmed by new sensations. I was there to experience the Organic Enzyme Peel which was going to liven up my mundane skin. I know, I’m not exactly” old”, but it’s important to take care of skin now so I can prevent damage and the horror of premature aging. The Organic Enzyme Peel is perfect for me because it revs up cellular renewal and restores skin to a beautiful balance. Custom blended organic fruit enzymes dissolve dead skin and cleanse pores, thereby stimulating the dermis to manufacture more collagen and elastin.

I know for a lot of us the term “peel” can sound horrific and painful. However, since Arcona products are all natural, there are no scary side effects or any downtime. They are cautious about the strength of the fruit enzymes, as skin sensitivities vary. When my facialist Debbie first applied the enzymes she let me know that I will start to feel a tingling sensation and to inform her if it becomes to much to handle. She says that with time clients become used to the tingling and she increases the intensity each visit. This helps develop thick skin, something I’m pretty sure I already have – figuratively and literally. I felt zero discomfort while the enzymes were working their magic.

After the Enzyme Peel was completed, Debbie goo’d up my face for an some LED therapy. Not only is an LED light supposed to aid in making your skin tone look better, it’s also a mood enhancer. If you have hyperpigmentation, rosacea, or acne then this is worth checking out. Since I’m naturally tan, my skin face has lots of different shades on it, so I feel this is a great way to even out skin tone. The cosmeceutical grade LED light helps to stimulate collagen production, encourages lymphatic drainage and helps to repair skin damage and imperfections. Basically you lay with your eyes covered under a bright red light for 15 minutes and when you rise up, you’re skin will literally be radiant. And no, you don’t feel like a baked potato and there’s no additional heat that stems from the LED light either. It’s actually a very simple treatment that expels stellar results.thearconabasicfive

Upon the close of my Arcona experience I was literally glowing and smelled good, as their products carry delicious scents. Debbie carefully tailored a skin care routine for me that she both explained and charted out. Arcona believes in the customized basic five skincare regimen. These pivotal five products combined speed up the skin’s renewal cycle from 30 to 7 days. As a result, surface layers of dead skin are continuously dissolving, so that the Dermis (deepest layer of skin tissue), becomes highly stimulated and the production of collagen and elastin is greatly increased. That leaves users looking fresh and glowing without having to apply makeup. Lets just say I’ve cleaned off my bathroom counter and set aside all those other beauty brands to make Arcona a top priority. I’ve been on the wagon a few days now and am noticing brighter skin, as the products are very light, but powerful. Arcona is undoubtedly the place to get that perfect facial and since there’s tons of shops in Santa Monica those perfect jeans aren’t far behind either.
