Project Ethos: fashion, art, & music

Submitted by LAPretty on June 8, 2009 – 1:23 pmNo Comment

Project Ethos is a lively celebration of art, fashion, and music that I attended last friday night. This event has been around for a few years in Los Angeles project-ethos-006and this is the first time I’ve gone.

Overall it was actually pretty fun and the highlights were the art installations and the Bobby Trendy spotting (he’s like a walking art installation himself). However, it seems like almost all of these edgy LA events fall short when it comes to the actual fashion. It wasn’t all bad, but it wasn’t all great either. I don’t mean to get all Nina Garcia on these fresh designers, but seriously clean up your hemlines people! This isn’t Project Runway; but some of those clothes looked very disheveled.

I missed the last show which was by Jazmin Whitley of Li Cari, who I apparently keep missing, but am hearing nothing but good things about. Hopefully, I’ll catch her collection soon. Preluding the fashion shows was a preformance by the Paradiso Girls.

As you can see from the pics it was all about the art installations in the outdoor courtyard.
