Weekend events
Looking for something to do this weekend that won’t cost much? Here are a few events around town that you may want to check into, or out of, depending on what floats your boat. I think we have something for everyone though.

Unique Los Angeles is back to help us shop for spring. Support local artists and get something creative for your wardrobe, home, kitchen, and don’t forget your mom. Psst…Mother’s Day is May 10! There will be over 230 merchants. No mass produced crap here. There will a few niche areas for specific goods like, The Green Room which will be offering up all natural and eco-friendly products. The Hot Mama/Cool Baby area is perfect for the inner hipster in any todler. Also, Art Gallery Row will have collections for assorted painters, potters, and photographers. UniqueLosAngeles.com
If you feel like being out doors, then walk through West Third St between Fairfax and La Cienega. The retailers and restaurants in this area are offering spring specials to those strolling by. There will be plenty of sales, discounts, and specials for the community to indulge in. Petrozilla (8216 W 3rd St) will be offering 15% off all of their merchandise which is full of apparel. So come out either Saturday or Sunday for special deals and prime people watching. WestThirdStreet.com
Also, if you feel like getting beachy drive down to Redondo as they’ll be having their annual Art & Jazz Festival. Best of all admission is free. Over 50 vendors will be there including local musicians, artists, and other local businesses. Don’t worry it wont be full of old or weird hippy people either, everyone will be cool because that what jazz is all about. This is a chill way to spend the afternoon before you get drunk in Hermosa trying to relive your college glory. RedondoPier.com
Let’s not forget that Cinco de Mayo is May 5th, so the festivities will be going on all this weekend in Downtown LA around Olvera St. There’s going to be lots of food, somberos, churros, tacos, mariachi music, and beer. Although, I’m thinking some people may shy away due to fear of the swine flu. I say just make sure you get your daily dose of Vitamin C! Event Info.
